Let’s Walk to School Together
Wednesday, November 4
Last month, we participated in the National Walk to School Day and many parents and children really enjoyed the activity. Therefore, we would like to encourage you to walk to school together on November 4.
If you live close enough to the school, we encourage you to get your neighbors together and walk. Please choose the safest route and make
sure you leave early enough to make it to school on time.
If you live too far away to walk, consider asking a friend to park at their house so you can walk as a group.
A group of parents and students are meeting at Crucero Park on the corner of Hidalgo and Camargo. The group will leave the park
at approximately 7:45 am. All are welcome to join this group walking to school.
Daylight Savings Time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 1.
Remember to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed tonight!
To the CHILDREN for your efforts. You ran so fast and conquered the obstacles with ease. It was really fun to cheer you on!
To the TEACHERS for helping us gather all the permission slips, advertise the event, encourage participation and coordinate the class theme and flag. You are amazing!
To the PARENTS that lent a helping hand! The event was super fun even with the crazy wind and heat; we couldn’t have done it without you.
To FAMILY AND FRIENDS for all the donations! We don’t have a total yet so look for signs around campus next week.
To the BUSINESSES that donated gift cards, items and prize packages! We appreciate your generosity and willingness to support our school community.
To the SCHOOL STAFF for answering questions, providing equipment, and supporting this event from start to finish. You are the best!
To ALL that took pictures. We would love it if you would share your favorites with us. Please send them to email@example.com.
Thanks so much for making the FUN RUN a successful event!

YOU GET EVEN MORE MEMBER PERKS FROM NATIONAL PTA
And don’t forget to check out National PTA for additional benefits and perks exclusively for PTA members.
The PTA’s nationwide network provides parents with the forum and tools to collectively influence the decisions that affect children not only at their schools, but also throughout their districts, within their states, and across the nation. This mission is unique to the PTA.
However, the number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school. Here are a few other reasons:
Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
Discover Great Resources. The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.
Tap into a Network. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.
Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.
Speak Up. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role by supporting building improvements through advocacy and play an important role in fundraising for curriculum based programs and social events.
Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
Enjoy Substantial Benefits. Individuals and local units can take advantage of a host of benefits from PTA membership including discounts and offers from member benefits providers and sponsors, magazine subscriptions, leadership training, e-newsletters and much more.
