Tis the Season

  • Washing your hands often with soap and water, especially after using the toilet and changing diapers,

  • Avoiding close contact, such as touching and shaking hands, with people who are sick, and

Ralphs Reward Card

RalphsWe recently found out that the scan bar for the Ralphs Reward Card that was sent out at the beginning of school isn’t working.  There is a technical problem that doesn’t associate the scan with Del Lago.  In order for Del Lago to receive donations from Ralphs, all cards must be registered online or you can call their customer service number for help: 1-800-443-4438

We appreciate your willingness to support Del Lago in this small way and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to register your Ralphs rewards card online.

 IF YOU HAVE NEVER REGISTERED YOUR REWARDS CARD ONLINE

NOTE: We have a secured website, these procedures will apply to everyone who has not entered their email address and assigned a password.

1. Log in to www.ralphs.com

2. Click on ‘Create an Account’

3. Follow the 5 easy steps to create an online account

4. You will be instructed to go to your email inbox to confirm your account

5. After you confirm your online account by clicking on the link in your email, return to www.ralphs.com and click on ‘my account’ (you may have to sign in again first).

6. View all your information and edit as necessary

7. Link your card to your organization by clicking on:

      a. Community Rewards

      b. Edit my community contribution and follow the instructions

      c. Remember to click on the circle to the left of your organizations’ name

Family Fun Night

  • We will be outside so please bring a blanket or low beach chairs to sit on.

  • If you have taller chairs, please sit in the back so that all children can see the movie.

  • If it happens to rain that day, we will reschedule the event.

  • Candy will be for sale while supplies last.

  • The movie is rated PG for some rude humor, action, and scary images.

Fundraiser Update

fundraiserWe are happy to report that the students have been turning in the SELL ITEM coupons on a regular basis.

As a result, we ran out of the monkey pencil toppers!!  From now on, your student will receive an elephant topper instead.

Thank you for all the work  you are doing to make this fundraiser a success!

All fundraiser money needs to be turned in by Monday, October 20.

Community Event: Mission Viejo’s 26th Annual Walk Against Drugs – October 18

& Emergency Preparedness Expo

Saturday, October 18th
8 a.m.-12 p.m.

Continuing with tradition, the day will begin with an 8:00 a.m. rally at Mission Viejo High School (25025 Chrisanta Dr.). Sheriff Sandra Hutchens will kick off the rally and introduce our keynote speaker, Jake Olson.

Afterwards the crowd will walk up La Paz Road, through the Oso Trail, and to the Celebration Fair at Village on the Green (Oso Viejo Community Park at 24932 Veteran’s Way) until 12 p.m.

There will be lots of food, fun and entertainment!

The Rotary Club will once again be throwing 1500 free hot dogs to the hungry crowd, a tradition they have maintained since 1991.

Also look for the Annual South County Disaster Preparedness Expo, which will provide information to residents of all ages on various aspects of preparedness.

Westbound La Paz Rd, between Marguerite Parkway and Chrisanta Drive, will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until approximately 9:30 a.m. to ensure the safety of participants and City Staff.

Free shuttles will be available starting at Newhart Middle School at 7:00 a.m., to and from Mission High School, until 12:00 p.m. Starting at 9:00 a.m., the shuttles will pick up at the Norman P. Murray Community & Senior Center, at 24932 Veteran’s Way.

Kids Are First Fundraiser

fundraiserThe Fall Fundraiser kicked off on Monday, October 6 with an assembly for the students.

Packets went home and we have been collecting coupons from students all week!

  • Don’t forget to log on to www.kidsarefirst.com and register your student so your out of state family and friends can participate.

  • There have been a few questions this week regarding the prizes for the students.  We hope this clarifies things.

If your child turns in the SELL 1 ITEM coupon, he/she will receive the following items the same day:

All other items such as the mini basket game, foam finger pointer, see behind sunglasses & mustache, mystery prize  and the higher sold item prizes will be delivered to your child at the same time as your purchases.

Your help goes to support programs the PTA provides to the students such as the Meet the Masters Art program, Hands – on Science Labs, and assemblies.

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory Open House – October 11 & 12

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, invites the public to its annual Open House. The event, themed “Welcome to Our Universe,” will take visitors on a “ride” through the wonders of space. Highlights include a life-size model of Mars Science Laboratory, demonstrations from numerous space missions; JPL’s machine shop, where robotic spacecraft parts are built; and the Microdevices Lab, where engineers and scientists use tiny technology to revolutionize space exploration.

The Earth Science Center will show 3-D videos of our home planet and JPL’s Earth science missions. Upon entering, visitors will pass an Earth globe with data from NASA’s Earth-orbiting satellites projected onto the sphere.

JPL is located at 4800 Oak Grove Drive, Pasadena, California, 91109. Admission to Open House is free.  Parking is also free, but is limited. To get to JPL, take the Berkshire Avenue/Oak Grove Drive exit from the 210 Freeway in La Canada/Flintridge. All visitors should wear comfortable shoes –no buses will be provided from JPL parking lots. JPL will provide vans for mobility-challenged guests.

Vehicles and items carried by persons entering NASA/JPL property are subject to inspection by Officers at the entry checkpoints.  The following items are prohibited at NASA/JPL: All weapons, explosives, incendiary devices, dangerous instruments, alcohol, illegal drugs, pets, all types of skates including skateboards, Segways and bicycles. Large bags, backpacks or ice chests are not permitted into the event, except small purses and diaper bags.
